Gaza Strip authorities announced a total lockdown for 48 hours late Monday, 

after t

he first cases of coronavirus were discovered in the general population.

Salama Marouf, chairman of the government's media office in Gaza, said the decision was taken after four people from 

the same family tested positive for the virus for citizens returning from abroad who were not connected to quarantine facilities.
